The Dare County Board of Commissioners expressed frustration on Monday, March 17, when two representatives from Charter Communications came before the board but couldn’t answer many of the questions from the board.

Tom Reeder, North Carolina’s Division of Water Quality (DWQ) staff director attended last week’s meeting of the Dare County Board of Commissioners to explain the Environmental Management Commission’s (EMC) amendments to the Coastal Stormwater rules.

After holding two public hearings on an ordinance relating to the zoning ordinance for home occupations, the Southern Shores Town Council opted to leave the ordinance as is and not accept proposed changes from the Planning Board.

The proposed public waterfront access project at the Manns Harbor bridge cleared another hurdle March 3 when a citizen’s advisory committee recommended that the project receive funds from the Waterfront Access and Marine Industry Fund.
