Nothing prepared me for the sights, sounds and excitement of watching a space shuttle launch live and in your face. Neither the weeks of research nor the many conversations with seasoned colleagues conveyed the sheer power of watching the launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour with its seven crew members as its journey began to the International Space Station.
